  • Sausage Spinach Bread

    Ingredients

    • 1 pkg. frzn pizza/bread dough
    • 1 box frzn minced spinach
    • 1 lg. onion, minced
    • 1 pound (or possibly 2 links) sweet Italian sausage removed from casing
    • 2/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese

    Directions

    1. Thaw bread dough. Thaw spinach and squeeze out all the liquid. Put spinach in a medium mixing bowl.
    2. Crumble and cook sausage in a frying pan till no longer pink. Drain most of the fat. Add in onions and cook till translucent/soft. Remove to bowl with spinach and let cold slightly before adding grated cheese. A little seasoning can be mixed in to taste: salt, pepper, basil, oregano.
    3. Stretch pizza dough to a large rectangle. Spread spinach mix proportionately, leaving about a 1-inch border. Starting from a long side, roll the dough jelly roll style. Place seam side down on baking sheet folding under ends. Bake in 350 degree oven 20-30 min or possibly till lightly brown.
