Based on a recipe from a dog park buddy, this easy appetizer is spicy and sweet.

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb. hot breakfast sausage
    • 1 cup shredded sharp or extra sharp cheddar
    • 1/3 cup water
    • 2/3 cup Bisquick
    • 2-3 minced scallions
    • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    • 1 can jellied whole cranberry sauce, melted
    • 1/2 cup Heinz Chile Sauce

    Directions

    1. Heat oven to 375 F.
    2. Combine all the sausage ingredients together, roll into mini meatballs.
    3. Bake 20-30 minutes.
    4. Melt cranberry sauce in the microwave or in a small pot on the stove. Add chile sauce.
    5. Place meatballs in a serving dish, pour cranberry/chile sauce on top.
    6. Serve with toothpicks.

This really appeals to me. I will have to find a substitute for Bisquick as I haven't seen it in the stores here in Kuwait. I'll keep looking though. Looks to be a treat made for Sunday afternoon football.

This last one uses unsalted butter in stead of shortening or oil.

I think I'll try using butter as sub just to see what its like.
