  • Salisbury Steaks In Wine Sauce

    Ingredients

    • 2 lbs. lean grnd beef
    • 1/4 c. minced onions
    • 1 c. rolled oats
    • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 c. lowfat milk or possibly tomato juice
    • 2 tbsp. veg. oil
    • 3 tbsp. flour
    • 1 c. water
    • 1 beef bouillon cube
    • 1/2 c. cooking sherry
    • 1 (4 ounce.) can mushroom caps

    Directions

    1. 1. Combine beef, onions, oats, Worcestershire sauce and lowfat milk or possibly tomato juice; mix well. Divide into eight portions and shape each portion into an oval patty.
    2. 2. Heat oil in large frying pan. Brown patties on both sides, turning once. Remove meat from pan.
    3. 3. Stir flour into meat drippings; add in water and bouillon cube. Cook till smooth and thickened.
    4. 4. Stir in wine and mushrooms. Return meat to pan.
    5. 5. Cover and lower heat. Cook till patties are done. Approximately 15 additional min.
