Salisbury Steak
yeah I made this one up too by trying different ways of making things. I found that mixing a little bit of flour, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, water, bullion cubes makes an awesome brown gravy. Then onions, garlic and mushrooms just is an added bonus adds awesome flavor. Ingredients
- 2-3 lbs ground beef
- 3 tbsp. flour
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 3 cloves Garlic finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 2 beef bullion cubes
- 1 1/2 c.warm water
- 1 lg. onion, chopped
- 1 cup mushroom pieces and stems
- 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Directions
- Make ground beef into patties
- heat skillet on medium heat
- brown on both sides
- remove from pan; set aside
- rinse skillet of any excess fat/grease
- put olive oil in skillet saute onions, mushrooms and garlic for about 3-5 minutes
- Add 1 1/2 cups warm water, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, bullion cubes and flour stir with a whisk
- place patties back into skillet
- turn heat down just a little bit
- cover and let it simmer
- flipping the patties every 5-10 minutes until sauce is thickened
