  • Rebel House Buffalo Burger

    Ingredients

    • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    • 1 x onion, diced
    • 1 x egg
    • 2 tsp minced fresh thyme, rosemary, or possibly, oregano, (or possibly 1/2 tsp dry)
    • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
    • 2 tsp prepared horseradish
    • 1/2 tsp each salt and pepper
    • 8 ounce medium grnd beef
    • 8 ounce grnd buffalo
    • 4 x kaiser roll, or possibly, hamburger, buns
    • 4 x leaves lettuce
    • 1 x tomato, sliced
    • 1/2 sm red onion, thinly, sliced

    Directions

    1. In skillet, heat oil over medium heat; fry diced onion, stirring occasionally, till softened, about 5 min. Let cold.
    2. In large bowl, beat egg. Stir in thyme, mustard, horseradish, salt and pepper; fold in onion, beef and buffalo. Shape into four 1/2-inch thick patties. (Make-ahead: Cover and chill for up to 6 hrs. Or possibly layer between waxed paper in airtight container and freeze for up to 1 month; thaw in refrigerator.)
    3. Place patties on greased grill over medium-high heat; close lid and cook, turning once, till no longer pink inside, about 10 min.
    4. Cut rolls in half; place, cut sides down, on grill and toast till golden brown, 1 to 2 min. Layer burgers, lettuce, tomato then onion on bottoms; sandwich with tops.
