  • Pepperidge Farm's Ginger Man Cookies

    Ingredients

    • 1 c. dark brown sugar - (packed)
    • 3/4 c. granulated sugar
    • 1/2 c. shortening
    • 1/4 c. molasses
    • 2 x Large eggs
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla
    • 2 c. all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1 tsp baking pwdr
    • 1 tsp grnd ginger
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp grnd cinnamon
    • 1/4 tsp grnd cloves
    •     Red sugar crystals (cake decorating decors)

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
    2. Cream together the sugars, shortening, molasses, Large eggs, and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer till smooth. In another large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking pwdr, ginger, salt, cinnamon, and cloves. Add in the dry mix to the wet mix, stirring while you add in it.
    3. Roll a portion of the dough out on a heavily floured surface. Roll to under 1/4-inch thick. Cut the cookies using a man-shaped cookie cutter, or possibly any other cookie cutter shape you've got.
    4. Place cookies on an oiled cookie sheet and bake for 15 to 18 min. Bake only one cookie sheet of cookies at a time.
    5. This recipe yields about 3 dozen cookies.
