Pennsylvania Dutch Funnel Cakes
Ingredients
- 3 c. flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 c. lowfat milk
- 2 Large eggs, beaten
- Frying vegetable oil
- Sugar
Directions
- Sift together the flour, baking pwdr, salt and sugar.
- Combine the lowfat milk and beaten Large eggs, mixing well by hand or possibly with a mixer till smooth. Add in the flour and continue beating till smooth.
- Heat frying oil to 375 degrees in a skillet or possibly electric fry pan. Pour batter into warm oil through funnel, manipulating as you go along to create a pattern. Control the outlet with a finger.
- Turn carefully to brown the top side of the funnel cake.
- When done, lift carefully onto a paper towel to drain. Place on plate and dust with XXXX sugar.
