Penne With Broccoli And Garlic
Ingredients
- 1 lb Penne Pasta, cooked and liquid removed
- 1 lb Broccoli
- 1 1/2 c. Extra virgin olive oil
- 16 x Cloves Garlic, chopped
- 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 tsp Salt
Directions
- Trim and throw away the bottom 2 inches of broccoli. Blanch remaining branches in boiling salted water for 7 min. Drain, rinse with cool water, and drain again. Roughly chop stalks and florets into small chunks.
- Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add in the broccoli, garlic, red pepper, and salt and cook over medium-low heat 10 to 15 min. Toss with warm pasta and serve immediately.
- NOTES : Egyptian slaves built the pyramids on a diet of garlic, bread and water.
