  • Pecan Sticky Buns

    Ingredients

    • 1/2 c. brown sugar
    • 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
    • 1/4 c. butter
    • 1/4 c. sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 3/4 c. pecans halves
    • 1 loaf frzn bread dough (thawed and at room temperature)

    Directions

    1. In a heavy oven proof skillet (10 inch) bring to a boil butter, corn syrup, and brown sugar over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer 1 minute. Cold slightly and arrange pecan halves (flat side up) on the bottom of the skillet.
    2. On lightly floured surface, roll dough to a 16 x 12 inch rectangle. Sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar. Roll up tightly from long side - healthy pinch to create a seal. Cut into 1 inch slices. Arrange 1/2 inch apart.
    3. Cover, let rise 30 min or possibly till doubled. Bake in the center of the oven at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 min. Makes 16.
    4. Per Bun: 204 calories, 3 grams protein, 33 grams carbohydrates, 7 grams fat, 1 milligram cholesterol, 188 milligrams sodium.
