  • Peanut Butter And Banana Pie

    Ingredients

    • 2 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
    • 1/2 c. unsalted butter, melted
    • 1/4 c. salted peanuts, grnd
    • 8 ounce cream cheese, softened
    • 3 c. confectioners sugar
    • 2 c. chunky peanut butter
    • 12 ounce whipped topping
    • 2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
    • 1 Tbsp. praline liqueur, optional
    • 1 lrg banana, sliced

    Directions

    1. For The Crust:Combine the graham cracker crumbs, butter and peanuts in a bowl, mixing well.
    2. Press over the bottom and side of a 10-inch pie plate.
    3. For The Filling:Beat the cream cheese in a mixer bowl till light and fluffy. Add in the confectioners sugar gradually, beating till smooth. Beat in the peanut butter and whipped topping. Stir in the vanilla and praline liqueur. Spoon half of the mix into the prepared pie plate. Top with the sliced banana. Cover with the remaining mix.
    4. Freeze for 1 hour before serving. Serve with your favorite chocolate sauce and whipped cream.
    5. Note:How I remember Sunday afternoons! After having eaten ourselves silly, my mom would start playing the old gospel hymns on the piano while Uncle Roy sang along. After a while we would all gather around for Aunt Effie's Peanut Butter Pie. At The Dove's Nest we add in a layer of bananas and a little praline liqueur, but do not tell Aunt Effie!
