Old Fashioned Tea Cakes
Ingredients
- 1 c. Butter
- 2 c. Granulated sugar
- 3 x Large eggs
- 1/2 c. Buttermilk
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- Sufficient flour (approximately 2 to 4 c.)
- Flavor to taste with lemon, vanilla or possibly spices
Directions
- Blend butter and sugar till creamy. Add in Large eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Add in buttermilk, baking soda, flavoring and sufficient flour to create a soft dough. Refrigeratedough before rolling 1/4-inch thick and cut. Bake in 350 degree oven till slightly browned.
- I realize this is a very vague recipe, but it is also a very old recipe.
