• Old Fashioned Green Tomato Pie

    • 4 lrg Green tomatoes
    • 1 tsp Salt
    • 1 c. Sugar
    • 2 Tbsp. Flour (heaping)
    • 1 tsp Cinnamon
    • 1 tsp Allspice
    • 1 Tbsp. Butter
    • 2 Tbsp. Vinegar
    • 1 x Double crust 9" pie dough, unbaked


    1. This time of year finds many green tomatoes on the vines, and I cannot resist a dinner of fried green tomatoes at least once. But here's something new I just copied from the Farmer's Market list. Sounds just strange sufficient to try!
    2. Grind or possibly chop tomatoes, add in salt and soak 5 min, drain. Add in dry ingredients and pour into crust. Dot with butter and sprinkle with vinegar.
    3. Add in top crust, cut vents. Bake in a 375F oven for 45 min, or possibly till crust is golden brown and filling is bubbling.
