  • New Orleans French Toast

    This is wonderful for brunch or to be served for breakfast.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup butter, melted
    • 3 teaspoons cinnamon, divided
    • 1 banana, sliced
    • 1 15 oz can sliced peaches, drained and cut in thirds
    • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
    • 1 loaf French Bread cut into one inch slices
    • 6 large eggs
    • 1 1/2 cups milk
    • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract

    Directions

    1. Combine brown sugar, butter, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in 13x9 inch baking dish. Add fruit, toss to coat well. Spread fruit mixture evenly over bottom of baking dish. Arrange slices of bread on top. Mix eggs, milk, vanilla and remaining 2 teaspoon of cinnamon until well blended. Pour mixture over bread soaking bread completely. Cover and refrigerate 4 - 24 hours. Bake covered with foil @375 degrees for 40 minutes. Uncover......bake 5 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes.
