Based on my Mom's corn chowder recipe and adapted to crock pot cooking. The ultimate comfort food for a rainy, winter night.

    Ingredients

    • 6 slices bacon, sliced
    • 1/2 teaspoon of butter
    • 1/2 of 1 medium sized onion, chopped
    • 3 medium sized potatoes, diced, peeled
    • 1 can of whole kernel corn
    • 2 cans of cream-style corn
    • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
    • 1 teaspoon celery salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
    • 2/3's of a quart of whole milk
    • 3/4 cup water

    Directions

    1. Chop and dice onion
    2. Peel and dice potatoes
    3. In the microwave, cook bacon until crisp
    4. Add butter to a pan and sauté onion and potatoes for 5 minutes
    5. Combine all ingredients in your crock pot.
    6. Stir together well
    7. Place cover on your crock pot
    8. Cook on LOW setting for 5 to 6 hours
    9. Two hours before serving, blend 1/2 of the chowder to make a creamier chowder
    10. Add more celery salt and fresh ground black pepper to your taste
