Moroccan Beef Kabobs with Spicy Slaw
This dish is packed with flavor easy to put together. Marinate the beef for at least 3 hours and then throw it on the grill and serve with spicy slaw , pittas and lemon dill sauce . Ingredients
- Beef Kabobs:
- 1C Chopped fresh Italian parsley
- 1C Chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/2 C Chopped onion
- 3 Tbl Lemon juice
- 1/3 C Olive oil
- 1 Tbl Ground cumin
- 1Tbl Ground coriander
- 1Tbl Paprika
- 1 Tbl Cider vinegar
- 1 Tbl Ketchup
- 2 Tbl Agave nectar
- 3-4 Cloves garlic
- 1/2 Inch piece of fresh gingeroot
- 1 Tsp Harrissa paste or chili garlic sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 lbs. Beef top sirloin steak cut into 1 - 1 1/2 inch pieces
- Spicy slaw:
- 1 Package Shredded angel hair coleslaw
- 1 Red chili pepper sliced very thin
- 1 Tomato diced
- 1/4 Red onion sliced thin
- 1/3 C Fresh flat leaf parsley chopped
- 1/3 C Fresh cilantro chopped
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 1/2 tsp Kosher salt
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 Tbl Agave nectar
- 1/4 C Olive oil
- Lemon Sauce:
- 1/2 C Sour cream
- 1/4 tsp Dried dill weed or 1 Tbl of fresh chopped dill weed
- 2 tsp Fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Directions
- Beef kabobs:
- Place all Ingrediants in a blender except for the beef and pulse till well combined
- Pour marinade in a ziplock bag
- Add beef cubes to the marinade
- Marinate for at least 3 hours
- Thread beef cubes onto metal skewers or wood ones which have been soaked in water for 30 minutes to prevent skewers from burning
- Place kabobs on a grill and grill for around 8-12 minutes
- Take kabobs off the grill and cover with foil and let rest for around 10 minutes
- Serve with spicy slaw , pitas and lemon sauce recipes follow .
- Spicy Slaw :
- Place all Ingrediants in a mixing bowl
- Toss till well combined
- Place in a nice salad bowl and chill
- Lemon sauce :
- Place all Ingrediants in a bowl and stir together
- Let chill
