Molasses Cake
I don’t know why, but I think of Molasses as a fall / winter ingredient. It’s not. But for me, I most commonly use it during the fall or winter. Here we have a Molasses Cake. I tried researching the origins, but came up short. I asked around, and supposedly, back in the day, some wise person who had no sugar for a cake decided to use molasses instead. Just like that, Molasses Cake was born. I don’t know if it’s true, but that’s the story I’m going with! This cake is very simple to make, and is actually moist and delicious. So on a day you’re feeling “Slow as molasses”, make a Molasses Cake! Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar

- 1/2 cup Molasses
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground Ginger
