MEAT SOUP
This is a traditional dish of Pathans, people of northwestern Pakistan. The northern part of the country is extremely cold during the winter season. This soup keeps you warm during this season. It's so simple, easy and savory. Try my version of this recipe... Ingredients
- 1/2 kg. beef, cut up
- 1 medium onion, quartered
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 inch ginger
- 5 cloves
- 2 black cardamoms
- 1 tsp. cumin seeds
- 10 peppercorns
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. MSG
- CORNSTARCH SOLUTION:
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 4 tbsp. water
Directions
- Combine all the ingredients in a pan. Cover with enough water. Simmer for 1 hour or until meat is tender.
- Take out meat and set aside. Strain soup in a colander.
- Mix meat and soup in a pan. Bring to boil.
- Thicken with cornstarch solution.
