    One of my favorite native desserts

    Ingredients

    • 2 14 fl oz cans coconut milk
    • 1 cup sweet corn kernels
    • 1 1/4 cup cornstarch
    • 1/3 cup water
    • 3/4 cup condensed milk
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Directions

    1. Grease a medium pan of whatever shape you'd like for as long as the shape will allow you to release the maja blanca.
    2. Place a medium sauce pan over medium heat then pour coconut milk and bring to boil. Add corn, condensed milk, sugar, and vanilla extract.
    3. Let it continue to boil and keep stirring for about 10 minutes.
    4. Combine cornstarch and water in a bowl and stir until cornstarch is dissolved.
    5. Slowly pour cornstarch and water solution into the pot while stirring the maja blanca.
    6. Continue stirring until the maja blanca thickens evenly then turn off the heat.
    7. Transfer maja blanca into the greased pan.
    8. Smooth the top with greased spatula.
    9. Set it aside to cool to room temperature
