Perfect light dessert to finish a lunch or dinner meal and it couldn’t be easier! Make this right before serving - it’ll only take about 5 minutes. This is easy on the calories and fat, making it an option for heart-healthy and diabetes-friendly diets. Technically this is a sherbet as it contains dairy, which sorbets do not. But whatever you wish to call it, this dessert is easy on the waistline, yet very satisfying.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup non-fat milk (or 1%)
    • 3 cups (16 ounces) frozen berries, do not thaw (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or mixed)
    • Non-caloric sweetener of choice, such as Splenda, Stevia, etc.

    Directions

    1. Pour milk into bottom of food processor. Shake berries on top of milk and add sweetener to taste. Process in 1-2 minute increments, stopping to scrape down and break up fruit occasionally. Continue processing until sorbet is thick and smooth.
    2. Serve immediately in small bowls.
    3. YIELD: Approximately six one-half cup servings.
