    My Grandma made these every Christmas eve. There was no recipe, these are what we came up with, they taste right.

    Ingredients

    • DUMPLINGS:
    • 1 1/2 cup potatoes
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1 eggs
    • 1 cup flour
    • pepper to taste
    • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
    • TOPPINGS:
    • 1/2 pound Bacon
    • 1 med onion

    Directions

    1. Cut bacon into small pieces and fry, half way through frying add onions. Set aside.
    2. Mix all dumpling ingredients except the oil. Knead dough well. Shape into balls the size of walnuts. I use a cookie scoop, a lot quicker. Cook, covered in salted, boiling water for about 5 minutes until they float to the surface. Toss with oil, so they don't stick.
    3. Top with the bacon and onion.
    4. note: there are other topping that can be used. Fried onions, mushrooms, sour cream.
