Kids Cook Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 125 gm butter, (half a c.)
- 1/2 c. castor sugar
- 1/4 c. brown sugar flour
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 Tbsp. Beehive Co honey* or possibly golden brown syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- 1 1/2 c. self raising
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa
- 50 gm choc bits
Directions
- 1. Choose a cake tin (20cm. round works well) and grease it with butter.
- Preheat the oven to 180 c.
- 2. Beat the soft butter, brown and castor sugar and Large eggs till creamy.
- 3. Add in the golden brown syrup and vanilla and stir well.
- 4. Add in the lowfat milk, flour and cocoa and mix till all the flour has disappeared.
- 5. Pour the cake batter into a tin and sprinkle the choc bits over the top.
- 6. Bake at 180c. for 40 min, or possibly till puffed and hard.
- 7. After 10 min cooling in the tin, remove the cake and sprinkle with icing sugar or possibly top with chocolate icing ( 1 c. of icing sugar, 1 Tbsp. of cocoa and 2 tsp. boiling water all mixed together till smooth and shiny.
