Italian chocolate spice cookies
Ingredients
- 4 CUPS FLOUR
- 2 CUPS SUGAR
- 2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
- 1 1/4 CUP WATER
- 1 CUP COCOA
- 2 TEASPOONS CINNAMON
- 1 1/4 TEASPOON CLOVES
- 1/2 CUP OIL
- FROSTING
- 1 BOX CONFECTIONERS SUGAR
- MILK
- 1 TEASPOON VANILLA
- 1/2 CUP COCOA
Directions
- A dough hook makes this very easy.
- Add all ingredients except 1 cup of flour into bowl. Mix well. Then gradually add the last cup of flour, working in as much as the dough will absorb.
- Knead the dough for about 6 minutes at least until it is all pulled away from the sides of the bowl and smooth.
- Then cover and let the dough rest about half an hour.
- Roll out the dough in about one inch diameter ropes, then make slices on a 45 degree angle, about 1 inch wide.
- this is a very nice recipe.
- cool and frost.
- BAKE 15 MINUTES AT 325
