  • Italian chocolate spice cookies

    Ingredients

    • 4 CUPS FLOUR
    • 2 CUPS SUGAR
    • 2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
    • 1 1/4 CUP WATER
    • 1 CUP COCOA
    • 2 TEASPOONS CINNAMON
    • 1 1/4 TEASPOON CLOVES
    • 1/2 CUP OIL
    • FROSTING
    • 1 BOX CONFECTIONERS SUGAR
    • MILK
    • 1 TEASPOON VANILLA
    • 1/2 CUP COCOA

    Directions

    1. A dough hook makes this very easy.
    2. Add all ingredients except 1 cup of flour into bowl. Mix well. Then gradually add the last cup of flour, working in as much as the dough will absorb.
    3. Knead the dough for about 6 minutes at least until it is all pulled away from the sides of the bowl and smooth.
    4. Then cover and let the dough rest about half an hour.
    5. Roll out the dough in about one inch diameter ropes, then make slices on a 45 degree angle, about 1 inch wide.
    6. this is a very nice recipe.
    7. cool and frost.
    8. BAKE 15 MINUTES AT 325
