Hungarian Goulash
Ingredients
- 20 lbs beef cubes from the rounds
- 3 lbs onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup minced garlic
- 1 lb margarine
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp dry mustard
- 1/2 cup paprika
- 1 tsp cayenne
- 1/4 cup salt
- 3 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- 2 qts catsup
- 6 qts water
- 2 lbs flour
- 2 qts water
Directions
- Note: use tilt kettle for this recipe.
- Melt/heat margarine and brown beef and onions. Add garlic.
- Mic all seasonings, sugar, and liquids together and stir into browned meat and vegetables.
- Close lid and simmer for 1- 1.5 hours until meat is tender.
- Mix together flour and water until smooth and gradually add to the beef mixture, cooking until thickened.
- Pan up and serve.
