This is a beautiful cake when baked in a bundt pan and tastes so much like the famous Honey Buns you find in stores. Most of the recipes I researched and tested did not include honey. In this case, I did, while adding a few other ingredients. It turned out be become a cake one would be proud to serve and very easy to prepare.

    Ingredients

    • 1 yellow cake mix (with pudding)
    • 4 eggs
    • 1/3 cup water
    • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
    • 8 oz. sour cream
    • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
    • 2 tsp. cinnamon
    • 4 tablespoons honey
    • 1 small package pecans, crushed (optional)
    • 2 cups powdered sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
    • 3-4 tablespoons milk or light cream

    Directions

    1. Mix together cake mix, eggs, water, oil, honey, and sour cream in a bowl and mix well. Prepare your choice pan - 13" X 9" or a Bundt cake pan by greasing and flouring. (I prefer the Bundt cake pan for more attractive slices).
    2. Mix together brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir in the pecans, if you choose adding them. Sprinkle mixture evenly over the top of your cake batter. Using a greased spatula, gently swirl the brown sugar mixture into the cake batter to form swirling effect.
    3. Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Insert toothpick to test for doneness.
    4. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
    5. To make drizzling glaze:
    6. In medium bowl, combine powdered sugar, vanilla, butter, and milk until mixture has consistency of a glaze. Drizzle the glaze evenly over the cake. (Makes about 1 1/2 cups of glaze) You can drizzle half the amount to the cake and add portions of the other half over each individual slices.
