    Ingredients

    • 4 x French bread loaves - (ea abt 6" long)
    • 12 slc Salami
    • 12 slc Provolone cheese
    • 12 slc Mortadella
    • 12 slc Swiss
    • 1 c. Pickled banana peppers Drizzle of extra virgin olive oil
    • 1 lb Shoestring potatoes in water Oil for frying Salt to taste Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste

    Directions

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Preheat the fryer.
    2. Build each sandwich by placing three slices of the salami and three slices of the Provolone cheese on one side. On the other side of the bread, place three slices of the mortadella and three slices of the Swiss cheese. Sprinkle each half with the banana pickles. Drizzle each sandwich with extra virgin olive oil. Place the sandwiches on a sheet pan and place in the oven. Cook the sandwiches till the cheese melts, about 3 to 4 min.
    3. Place the shoestring potatoes in the warm oil and fry till golden, about 3 to 4 min. Remove the fries from the oil and drain on a paper-lined plate. Season the fries with salt and pepper.
    4. Remove sandwiches from the oven and press the two halves together. Serve the grinders with french fries.
    5. This recipe yields 4 sandwiches.
