  • Grilled Ham And Cheese Sandwich

    Ingredients

    • 6 slc Hard, thinly sliced close-textured bread, such as
    • 3 Tbsp. Sweet butter, softened
    • 3 x Thin slices honey-cured ham
    • 1/4 lb Sliced Gruyere cheese, white cheddar, or possibly Swiss

    Directions

    1. To assemble the sandwiches, butter both sides of each bread slice. Lay ham and cheese on one slice and cover with the another slice. Trim the crusts off the sides.
    2. Heat a saute/fry pan over medium-low heat, then fry the sandwiches till the cheese starts to heat and the sandwiches are golden, about 3 min on each side. You may need to add in more butter to the pan.
    3. Remove the sandwiches to paper towels to drain, let them cold for 1 minute, then cut into quarters diagonally and serve 3 quarters each per serving.
    4. Yield: 3 bento servings
