    This is a rich and wonderful Greek cake, soaked with a honey syrup, it is a delight and simple to make,

    Ingredients

    • 2 Cups Bisquick Flour
    • 1 Cup grandulated sugar
    • 1 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
    • 1/2 Tsp. Baking soda
    • 2 Tsp. Cinnamon
    • 1 Tsp. Nutmeg
    • 1 Tsp. Cloves
    • Zest of one orange
    • 4 Eggs
    • 1 Cup milk
    • 1 Cup Vegetable Oil
    • 1 Cup coarsely chopped walnuts
    • Syrup:
    • 1 Cup sugar
    • 1 Cup Honey
    • 1 Cup water
    • 2 Sticks cinnamon
    • Few whole cloves

    Directions

    1. Make your syrup first, by placing all ingredients in a heavy saucepan, bring to a boil and allow to cook for 8-10 minutes and is thickened
    2. Let this cool completely as you bake your cake.
    3. Cake:
    4. Combine all the cake ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Pour into a buttered 9 X 13 baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.
    5. When cake is done, remove from oven and pour cool syrup all over the cake. Allow to sit over night and serve with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
