  • Grandma Kyllo's Swedish Meatballs

    Ingredients

    • 3 lbs. grnd beef
    • 1/3 c. onion, minced
    • 1 c. dry cracker crumbs or possibly bread crumbs
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    • 1 egg
    • 1 c. lowfat milk

    Directions

    1. Soak crumbs in lowfat milk. Add in slightly beaten egg. Combine all remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly. Form into soft (not packed) small meat balls. Fry practically done with small amount shortening in skillet. Place in baking dish. To make gravy add in water to drippings in skillet; add in 1 beef bouillon cube, 1 can chicken rice soup or possibly cream of mushroom soup, and 1 medium can of mushrooms and the liquid. Thicken to gravy like consistency. Pour over meat balls. Bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour till bubbly.
