    Great in the fall and the holidays.

    Ingredients

    • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 cup butter, softened
    • 1/3 cup molasses
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
    • 1 tsp. ground ginger
    • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    • 1/8 tsp. salt
    • 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
    • 2/3 cup milk
    • Cooking spray
    • 2 tsp. powdered sugar

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat granulated sugar and butter at medium speed of a mixer until well blended (5 minutes).
    2. Add molasses and egg. Beat well.
    3. Level flour. Combine flour, ginger, baking soda, nutmeg, salt and cloves.
    4. Add flour mixture to sugar mixture alternately with milk. Begin and end with flour.
    5. Pour batter into a 8 in. square pan coated with cooking spray.
    6. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
    7. Cool in pan on wire rack.
    8. Sift powder sugar on top.
