German Pigs In A Blanket
Ingredients
- 1 pound raw hamburger
- 1 c. cooked rice
- Minced onion
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 potatoes, cut in 1/8
- 4 carrots or possibly as many as you like, cut in pcs
- 1 lg. can of tomatoes
- 1 onion, cut in pcs
Directions
- Mix together and roll into balls. Use one head of large cabbage leaves cut off the head in one pcs. Place in boiling water to soften, about 2 min. When soft sufficient, remove from water - must hold together. Place meat filling in center of cabbage leaves; roll tightly. If need be, secure with toothpick.
- Cut up remainder of cabbage into wedges; place all vegetables in large pot. Add in water to cover vegetables. Place cabbage rolls on top of vegetables. Bring to a boil till vegetables are tender. Lift out cabbage rolls and place on platter. Serve with cooked vegetables.
