HEARTY AND NUTTY, THESE BEAN BURGERS ARE MADE WITH COOKED SWEET POTATO, WALNUTS, ROLLED OATS AND FLAXSEED. NOTE: COOKED, ORGANIC DRIED BEANS AND BE USED IN PLACE OF CANNED BEANS. Ingredients
- 1/2 CUP ORGANIC WALNUTS
- 1/2 CUP ORGANIC ROLLED OATS
- 1 TABLESPOON ORGANIC FAX SEEDS
- 1 TEASPOON ORGANIC GROUND CUMIN
- 1 TEASPOON ORGANIC PAPRIKA
- 1 TEASPOON ORGANIC SALT
- 1 PINCH ORGANIC GROUND CINNAMON.
- 1 15 OZ. ORGANIC CAN GARBANZO BEANS, SEE NOTE!
- 1 15 OZ. ORGANIC CAN BLACK BEANS, SEE NOTE!
- 2 TEASPOONS NUTRITIONAL YEAST FLAKES
- 1 ORGANIC EGG, BEATEN IN A SEPARATE BOWL
- 1/2 CUP SWEET POTATO, COOKED, MASHED
- 1/2 CUP ORGANIC ONION, MINCED
- 3 CLOVES ORGANIC GARLIC, PRESSED
- 1/2 ORGANIC GREEN PEPPER, MINCED
- 1 LARGE ORGANIC MUSHROOM, MINCED
- 1/2 TEASPOON ORGANIC BRAGGS LIQUID AMMINOS.
- 1/4 TO 1/2 CUP ORGANIC OLIVE OIL
Directions
- PROCESS WALNUTS IN FOOD PROCESSOR UNTIL YOU HAVE A COURSE POWDER, ADD OATS, FLAX SEEDS, CUMIN, PAPRIKA, SALT, AND GROUND CINNAMON AND PROCESS AGAIN UNTIL THE OATS ARE GROUND INTO A COARSE POWDER.
- ADD GARBANZO AND BLACK BEANS AND SWEET POTATO, YEAST FLAKES TO THE PROCESSOR BOWL; PROCESS UNTIL SMOOTH.
- ADD BEATEN EGG, MINCED ONION, PRESSED GARLIC, GREEN PEPPER, MINCED MUSHROOM, 1/2 TEASPOON BRAGGS LIQUID AMMINOS AND PROCESS UNTIL SMOOTHLY INTEGRATED AND SHAPE INTO PATTIES.
- HEAT ORGANIC OLIVE OIL IN A SKILLET OVER MEDIUM HEAT UNTIL HOT AND ADD PATTIES, FRYING UNTIL DEEP BROWN CRUST FORMS, ABOUT 5 MINUTES PER SIDE.
