This is a simple marinade that combines some ingredients you wouldn't normally combine. It's a Japanese-French concoction that is sure to put a smile on your face!

    Ingredients

    • 3 lbs flank steak (about 2 steaks)
    • 2/3 cup dry red wine
    • 2/3 cup soy sauce
    • 6 large cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
    • 1/3 cup flat leaf parsley, chopped
    • Coarsely ground black pepper to taste

    Directions

    1. Combine all ingredients but steak in a bowl and mix. Then add flank steaks and coat well.
    2. Marinate steaks covered in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to overnight, turning once.
    3. Broil or grill steaks over high heat, 3 inches from heat source, about 4 minutes per side for medium rare. Remove to cutting board and let sit for 10 minutes.
    4. To serve, thinly slice on the diagonal and arrange on a serving platter.

This was a surprisingly flavorful marinade. If you want an elegant and interesting tasting steak that is not too spicy, I highly recommend it.

I cooked this the other night for a dinner party, and it was awesome! Great as a leftover the next day too.

Looking forward to trying this one. Looks like it would be good for sandwiches.
