Looking for an über rich hot cocoa? This is a spin off of Café Mexicano. Fiesta Hot Chocolate has similar properties. Instead of using coffee, you use milk.

    Ingredients

    • 1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder
    • 1 Tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
    • 1/2 Cup Packed Dark Brown Sugar
    • 4 Cups Milk
    • 3 Whole Cloves
    • 1 Stick Cinnamon, Broken In Half
    • 2 Tbsp. Powdered Sugar
    • 1 1/2 Tsp. Vanilla
    • Garnish:
    • Whipped Cream
    • Cinnamon Sticks

    Directions

    1. Mix cocoa and flour in 2-quart saucepan. Stir in brown sugar, milk, cloves, and 1 stick cinnamon. Heat just to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes (DO NOT boil).
    2. Remove from heat; remove cloves and cinnamon. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat with a wire whisk until foamy.
    3. Pour into 4 cups or mugs. Serve with whipped cream and cinnamon sticks.
