    Throughout our military career I have collected a number of favorite recipes from friends and family members that stand out. This is one of them. 8/229th Flying Tiger's Ellen Cerney always made these incredible brownies for family day/bake sales/ mailing to soldiers etc. Ellen...I SALUTE YOU because these are without a doubt the best brownies EVER. Soldiers worldwide thank you for sharing your recipe.

    Ingredients

    • 3 c sugar
    • 1 1/2 c butter- melted
    • 1 T vanilla
    • 6 eggs
    • 1 1/2 c all purpose flour
    • 1 c cocoa powder
    • 1 t baking powder
    • 1 t salt
    • 1/2 t cayenne pepper (I added this to Ellen's original recipe)
    • 1 bag chocolate chips

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350F
    2. Lightly grease 9x13 pan
    3. Cut parchment paper to line bottom for easiest removal.
    4. In mixing bowl beat melted butter with sugar and vanilla.
    5. Mix in eggs, 1 or 2 at a time until well incorporated and fluffy.
    6. In a separate bowl sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt and cayenne.
    7. Add dry ingredients to wet slowly mixing well.
    8. Stir in chocolate chips.
    9. Spoon into greased baking pan.
    10. Bake 40-45 minutes.
    11. Cool completely before cutting.
