Easy Dill Batter Bread
Great served with dishes that have gravy, such as pot roast, or pot pie. Ingredients
- 2 C AP flour
- 1 C small curd cottage cheese
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 T butter
- 2 T chopped scallions, or red onions
- 1/2 tsp. dillweed
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 beaten egg
Directions
- Heat oven to 375.
- Saute onions in butter.
- In a mixing bowl, combine egg, water, cottage cheese, and scallions.
- Mix in dry ingredients for 1-2 minutes.
- Grease baking dish and pour in batter.
- Let rise in warm area until nearly doubled.
- Bake for 30 minutes uncovered.
- Cover with foil, bake another 10 minutes.
- Let cool completely for ease of slicing.
