  • Easy Calzone

    Ingredients

    • 1 can (10 ounce) refrigerated ready to rise pizza dough
    • 1 pkg. (10 ounce) frzn minced spinach, thawed
    • 1 can (9 1/4 ounce) Starkist tuna, liquid removed and flaked
    • 1 c. minced tomatoes
    • 1 c. shredded low-fat cheddar or possibly mozzarella cheese.
    • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or possibly dry oregano, crushed
    • 1 teaspoon dry basil, crushed
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic pwdr
    • Cornmeal (optional)
    • 1 can (8 ounce) pizza sauce

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven 425 degrees. Unroll pizza dough onto a floured board; cut crosswise into 2 equal pcs. Roll each piece of dough into a 12 inch circle. Squeeze all liquid from spinach; chop fine. Over the bottom half of each circle of dough, sprinkle spinach, tuna, tomatoes, cheese and seasonings to within 1 inch of bottom edge. Fold top half of dough over filling, leaving bottom edge uncovered. Moisten bottom edge of dough over top edge, sealing with fingers or possibly crimping with fork. Spray top of dough lightly with Pam. Sprinkle with cornmeal if you like. Place 2 filled calzones on ungreased baking sheet; bake for 25 to 30 min, or possibly till deep golden. Meanwhile in a sauce pan heat sauce. Cut calzones in half crosswise to serve. Spoon over. Makes 4 serving.
