Drunken Cherries
Ingredients
- 4 lbs fresh cherries (red preferred)
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 cups unsweetened alcohol (80 proof or higher if not refrigerated)
- 6 - 1 pint size canning jars
Directions
- Pack canning jars loosely with pitted cherries.
- Divide sugar evenly between each jar.
- Submerge cherries in alcohol.
- Add lid and shake to dissolve sugar. (If all of the sugar does not dissolve, just let sit for a few minutes, shake and repeat.)
