Dried Fruit Compote
Ingredients
- A Passover standard
- 1 lb bag of mixed dry fruit
- 1/2 lb dry apricots
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. freshly grated lemon zest
- 1 Tbsp. freshly grated orange zest
- 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
- 2 c. water
Directions
- In a large bowl let the dry fruit and apricots soak in sufficient cool water to cover for 2 hrs. Drain. In a saucepan combine the fruit with the sugar and the other remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 min. Remove pan from heat and allow to cold. This compote may be made up to one week in advance and kept covered and chilled. Serve at room temperature.
