  • Dola's Hamburger Stroganoff

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb Hamburger
    • 1 med Onion (3/4 C.)
    • 4 Tbsp. Butter or possibly Margarine
    • 2 Tbsp. Flour
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 x clove Garlic chopped or possibly 1 tsp. garlic pwdr
    • 1/4 tsp pepper
    • 1 can Mushroom Stems & Pcs (4 ounce.)
    • 1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
    • 1 can Cream of Chicken soup*
    • 1 c. Lowfat sour cream
    • 2 c. warm cooked noodles (to 3)**

    Directions

    1. Brown hamburger in large skillet. Drain off fat. Heat butter in hamburger, add in onions, flour, salt, garlic, & pepper. Cook, stirring constantly for 5 min. Stir in soup & mushrooms. Simmer covered for 5 - 10 min. Reduce heat. Stir in lowfat sour cream. Serve over warm noodles.
    2. * You can use any combination of "Cream of" soups, such as 2 Mushroom soups, Celery soups, etc.. I use what I have on hand.
    3. ** I always serve it over instant mashed potatoes.
    4. Dola Says: I've made this recipe for years. It came from the "Betty Crocker Cookbook". It's one of my comfort foods. I made a few slight changes. Peas go good with this.
