  • Dijon And Wild Rice Turkey Burgers

    Ingredients

    • Dilled Dijon Sauce (see below)
    • 1 lb grnd turkey or possibly beef
    • 4 med green onions minced - (1/4 c.)
    • 1 c. cooked wild rice
    • 1 Tbsp. minced fresh dill (or possibly 1 tspn dry dill weed)
    • 2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
    • 6 x French rolls split
    • 1/3 c. mayonnaise or possibly salad dressing
    • 1 tsp minced fresh dill (or possibly 1/4 tspn dry dill weed)
    • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

    Directions

    1. Make Dilled Dijon Sauce: Mix all ingredients. Cover and chill till serving.
    2. Heat coals or possibly gas grill for direct heat.
    3. Mix remaining ingredients except rolls. Shape mix into 6 oval patties, about 3/4-inch thick.
    4. Grill patties uncovered 4 to 6 inches from medium heat 12 to 15 min, turning once, till no longer pink in center. Add in rolls, cut-sides down, for last 4 min of grilling till toasted.
    5. Serve burgers on rolls. Top with sauce.
    6. This recipe yields 6 sandwiches.
    7. Success Hint: Do not press down on the patties with a spatula while they're grilling - you'll squeeze out the flavorful juices!
    8. Do-Ahead: Shape the patties up to 4 hrs ahead of time. Cover with plastic wrap and chill till you're ready to grill.
