Custard Pie
Nan's Recipe ( My grandmother, Margaret Rudis) Ingredients
- 1 unbaked pie shell
- 5 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 cup sugar
- Nutmeg
Directions
- Beat eggs slightly while gradually adding sugar. Add milk and other ingredients.
- Pour into unbaked pie shell.
- Bake at 475 degrees for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes turn oven off but leave pie in for another 15 or 20 minutes. Remove when puffed and shimmers like jelly.
- Sprinkle with nutmeg.
