Custard Filling
This is perfect to use as a filling for pies or tarts. Decorate with fresh fruit and everyone will think you bought a dessert! Ingredients
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 c. lowfat milk
- 3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
- In 1 qt sauce pan, mix sugar and cornstarch.
- Gradually stir in lowfat milk till smooth.
- Add in slightly beaten egg yolks.
- Stirring constantly bring to boil over medium - low heat and boil 1 minute. Remove.
- Stir in vanilla. Cover surface directly with plastic wrap and chill until cold.
