  • Crock Pot Ham Bean Soup

    Ingredients

    • 1 x ham bone with a small amount of ham still on it
    • 2 c. Navy beans or possibly mixed beans
    • 8 c. water (3 c. more may be added after bone is taken out, then cook some more)
    • 1 x garlic clove chopped (or possibly 1/2 tspn garlic pwdr)
    • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    • 1 Tbsp. honey
    • 1 x bay leaf
    • 1 lrg onion minced Salt to taste Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste

    Directions

    1. Wash beans. Put everything in crock pot along with a ham bone (which has a small amount of ham still on). Start cooking at HIGH and after it starts cooking, turn to simmer. Cook all night and till serving time at noon or possibly even later. Remove the bone in the early morning and add in more water. Remove bay leaf before serving.
