Cracker Barrel Old Country Store's Cherry Chocolate Cobbler
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 pkt Nestle's semisweet chocolate morsels (6 ounce)
- 1/4 c. lowfat milk
- 1 x egg
- 1 can cherry pie filling - (21 ounce)
- 1/2 c. nuts finely minced
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking pwdr, salt and butter; cut with pastry blender till crumbs are size of large peas.
- Heat over warm (not boiling) water, Nestle's semisweet chocolate morsels. Remove from heat and cold slightly at room temperature (about 5 min).
- Add in lowfat milk and egg to melted chocolate and mix well. Blend chocolate into flour mix.
- Spread cherry pie filling in bottom of 2-qt casserole. Drop chocolate batter randomly over cherries. Sprinkle with minced nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 - 45 min. Serve hot with heavy cream.
- This recipe yields 6 servings.
