  • Cracker Barrel Cherry Chocolate Cobbler

    Ingredients

    • 1 1/2 c. flour
    • 1/2 c. sugar
    • 2 tsp baking pwdr
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/4 c. butter
    • 1 x (6 ounce.) pkg. Nestle's semi-sweet chocolate morsels
    • 1/4 c. lowfat milk
    • 1 x egg
    • 1 x (21 ounce.) can cherry pie filling
    • 1/2 c. nuts, finely minced

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350F. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking pwdr, salt and butter; cut with pastry blender till crumbs are size of large peas. Heat over warm (not boiling) water, Nestle's semi-sweet chocolate morsels. Remove from heat and cold slightly at room temperature (about 5 min). Add in lowfat milk and egg to melted chocolate and mix well. Blend chocolate into flour mix. Spread cherry pie filling in bottom of 2 qt casserole. Drop chocolate batter randomly over cherries. Sprinkle with minced nuts.
    2. Bake at 350 F for 40 - 45 min. Serve hot with heavy cream.
