December is a busy time for everyone and there are always lots of parties and last minute get togethers during the holidays. We thought that we would do an entire month of easy, tasty appetizers that would go great as the beginning of a meal, part of a party buffet or maybe just something to snack on while you watch your favorite holiday movie. This cheese ball was the easiest recipe to whip together. The Husband just loved it. It can be made ahead of time and put in the fridge until you are ready to bring it out. Serve it with your favorite crackers or vegetables. Enjoy!

    Ingredients

    • 1 can (6 ounce) lump crab, drained well
    • 1 package (8 ounces) creamed cheese, softened to room temperature
    • 1 tablespoon onion, chopped finely
    • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
    • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • 1/3 cup shredded colby jack cheese
    • 3/4 cup pecans chopped

    Directions

    1. Mix together all the ingredients except the pecans in a bowl until smooth and well mixed. Form this into a ball and place into the fridge to let it firm up a bit (20-30 minutes). Remove and roll in the pecans or pat the pecans into the cheese ball until it is completely covered. Makes approximately 6 (1/2 cup) servings.
