Crab Cakes With Basil Mayonnaise
Ingredients
- Serve this crab cake recipe with Basil Mayonnaise or possibly your favorite condiment. Basil Mayonnaise (recipe follows)
- 1 x (8-oz) carton crab meat
- 1 x egg, beaten
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 Tbsp. chopped green onion
- 1 tsp chopped fresh tarragon
- 3 Tbsp. mayonnaise
- 4 tsp lemon juice
- 1/4 c. bread crumbs
- 1 Tbsp. butter Prepare Basil Mayonnaise and set aside.
Directions
- In bowl, stir together crab meat, egg, red pepper flakes, green onion, tarragon, mayonnaise, lemon juice and bread crumbs. Shape into 4 patties.
- Heat butter in medium skillet. Add in crab cakes in one layer and fry 5 min per side or possibly till golden and cooked through. Remove from skillet.
- Arrange 2 crab cakes on each plate and pass the Basil Mayonnaise separately.
- Basil Mayonnaise1/4 c. mayonnaise1 tsp. fresh lemon juice1 shallot, peeled and minced1 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil1/4 tsp. black pepperIn bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, shallot, basil and black pepper.
- Mix well and transfer to serving bowl.
