Corn Bread
This is my mothers recipe. This will go great with a pot of beans. Best if cookded in a well seasoned cast iron skillet. Ingredients
- 1 cup corn meal
- 1 cup flour(less 4 Tbsp)
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp. soda ( none if using sweet milk)
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 Tbsp sugar (optional)
Directions
- Mix all ingredients together and bake them in a 10 inch skillet at 450 degree oven. One half recipe makes 8 inch skillet.
