  • Cookie Sheet Apple Pie

    Ingredients

    • 3 3/4 c. Flour
    • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
    • 3/4 c. Shortening
    • 3 x Egg, beaten
    • 8 c. Apple, cooking, peeled and sliced
    • 1 1/2 c. Sugar
    • 1 tsp Cinnamon
    • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
    • 1 c. Cornflakes, crushed
    • 1 x Egg white

    Directions

    1. In a bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening till mix resembles coarse crumbs. Add in Large eggs and lowfat milk; mix to create dough. Refrigeratefor 20 min. Divide dough in half; roll one half to fit the bottom and sides of a greased 15 x 10 x 1 baking pan. Arrange apples over crust. Combine sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cornflakes; sprinkle over apples. Roll remaining dough to fit top of pan and place over apples. Seal edges; cut slits in top. Brush with egg white.
    2. Bake at 400 for 15 min. Reduce heat to 350 and bake for 25-30 min or possibly till golden.
    3. Yield 16-20 servings.
