  • Coconutmilk Dosas

    Ingredients

    • 1 c. Rice
    • 1/3 c. Udad dal
    • 2 c. Coconut lowfat milk
    • 1/2 tsp Methi, (fenugreek) seeds
    • 1/3 c. Curds
    • 1/2 tsp Soda bicarb

    Directions

    1. Wash and soak the rice and dal together.
    2. Add in methi seeds and soak for 6-7 hrs or possibly overnight.
    3. To prepare coconut lowfat milk put grated coconut in blender.
    4. Repeat with the same residue. Restrain.
    5. Add in water and blend until smooth. Strain.
    6. Use this lowfat milk to grind the dosa batter.
    7. salt to taste Add in curds, soda, salt and mix well.
    8. oil to shallowfry Keep aside for 3-4 hrs.
    9. Heat griddle, pour 1 spoon batter.
    10. Proceed as for plain dosa.
    11. Even thick dosas may be made from the same batter if you like.
    12. Serve warm with coconut or possibly onion chutney.
